I understand at the moment the library only does RAW UDP. I also saw a post saying that you are going to extend the feature set for UDP in v3.1. What are the new features going to be?
Will the next vesion deal with congestion control, or assist with error correction or out of sequence packets (such as a sliding window). Will you manage packet size so that the MTU of 1500 is maintained?
Many kind thanks for the post. We don’t have a release schedule for 3.1 yet as we have decided to work on some of the smaller issues that have been outstanding for a while. Hopefully once we have those we can update on a 3.1 release.
When we do get round to it we would definitely like to offer as a minimum:
– Error correction, i.e. guaranteed delivery.
– Congestion control, i.e. send rate is a function of the error rate.
Thanks for response. It is really important for us to have a library handle the UDP internally. We actually really need it by March next year, so I hope that is realistic.
I’ll E-Mail you directly with regards to licensing.
