InactiveHello,
I’ve tried to use UDP Peer Discovery on Mac Os, but it turned out it doesn’t work. I checked it with ExamplesConsole sample and it doesn’t work as well. Rest of the samples work fine. Firewall is down. Logs files and screenshot attached. Let me know if you need further assistance.

InactiveHeya iYalovoy,
iOS had a similar problem which we fixed, apple had totally messed with the UDP framework. I will investigate over the next week and post back here.

InactiveDid the same test on Ubuntu, everything seems to work except Peer Discovery.
On Ubuntu I have System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: Access denied error.
Seems as access right issue. I tried setcap cap_net_raw=iep /path/to/mono, but didn’t help.
Does these samples has been tested on Mac Os/Linux at all? If so, what was the set up on Linux?September 10, 2014 at 21:54 #3148Anonymous
InactiveSeems to be connected to this one

InactiveHeya iYalovoy,
My apologies, we have been super busy recently and I haven’t had a chance to look into this problem yet. I have added it to our issue tracker so that we can keep track of it with relation to our other issues – https://bitbucket.org/MarcF/networkcomms.net/issue/71/osx-peer-discovery-problem.
I will try to update you again early next week.

InactiveI may have a possible fix for you, at least for OSX. What platform are you using, .net40?
September 23, 2014 at 09:02 #3332Anonymous
InactiveWe use .net20, because Unity. I am also interested in fix for Linux, because it doesn’t work on Ubuntu as well.

InactiveOk, thank-you for the feedback (via email). It looks like some operating systems have mutually exclusive configurations that work. I will prepare another hotfix that allows you to switch between the different modes depending on the operating system. Should be available within the next 2 days.
Sorry for the delay,
Regards,
Marc -
